The Jersey Acorn Commonwealth Games validation sub-committee have added the final three names to the 29 who were selected last month to represent the Island on the Gold Coast next April. Ollie Turner was chosen to take part in the sprint triathlon and two swimmers, Gemma Atherley and Harry Shalamon, were selected to swim in the backstroke events. The Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey (CGAJ) announced the first athletes who will form part of the Acorn Jersey Commonwealth Games Team 2018 at the team day on Saturday 25th November. The team at Acorn Finance were delighted to have the opportunity to see and hold the Queen’s Baton yesterday as part of the relay tour for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Relay began at Buckingham Palace on Commonwealth Day, 13 March 2017, when Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II placed her message to the Commonwealth into the GC2018 Baton.
