The Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey (CGAJ) announced the first athletes who will form part of the Acorn Jersey Commonwealth Games Team 2018 at the team day on Saturday 25th November. Paul du Feu, President of the Jersey Commonwealth Games Association, made the announcement at the Hotel de France in the presence of athletes, team managers and CGAJ management who have been part of the pathway to the Gold Coast for the last two years.
Team Jersey will include a mix of familiar faces from previous games and new team members for whom this will be their first time representing Jersey at Commonwealth level. Twenty-nine athletes have been confirmed, while a further four places will be filled by the end of the year with contenders from swimming, table tennis and shooting. The validation subcommittee will meet again in late December once all the competitions have finished to make the final team announcement.
